DMK completes allottment of seats to its allies

Chennai, Mar 16 : The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu tonight completed the process of identifying seats to its allies, by announcing seven seats to the Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam (KMK) and one seat each to the Moovendra Munnetra Kazhagam and Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi.

Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi announced seven seats to the KMK in the party's strongholds in the western region of the state.

As per the agreement reached between Mr Karunanidhi and KMK President Best Ramasamy, the KMK would contest from Soolur, Pollachi (Coimbatore), Palladam, Udumalpet (Tirupur), Perundurai, Gobichettipalayam (Erode) and Namakkal.

The DMK also announced Perambur seat in the city to the Perunthalaivar Makkal katchi and Chidambaram to Moovendra Munnetra Kazhagam. Both the parties would contest in DMK's Rising Sun symbol, a DMK release here said.

With this, the DMK has finalised seats to all its allies.

It had already identified 63 seats to the Congress, 30 to PMK and ten to VCK.

The DMK leader would announce party's list of candidates tomorrow evening.
