IUML announces candidates for 3 Tamil Nadu assembly seats



Chennai, Mar 18 : The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) today announced its list of three candidates for the April 13 Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.

While Abdul Basit would contest from Vaniyambadi, the party nominated Altaf Hussain for the Harbour seat and Sheikh Dawood in Nagapattinam.

The IUML would face the elections as part of the DMK-led Front.

The IUML was allotted three seats by the DMK, which also has Congress, PMK, VCK and Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam in its fold.

Later, the IUML candidates were introduced to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi by IUML President K M Khader Moideen.
