Coimbatore, Apr 6 : AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today gave assurance that the dyeing units problem of zero discharge level will be achieved if the AIADMK-led alliance takes charge of the state.
During her election campaign with alliance party leaders at VOC ground here, she said during 2007 after the High Court intervention, the DMK government had failed to call a meet between farmers and dyeing unit owners to bring solution. Even after paying crore of rupees as penalty now the dyeing units were closed and every day losing Rs five crore worth production.
She recalled that during her last government rule, she had planned to introduce marine discharge scheme for the dyeing units and because of the change in the government she could not implement it. Now after assuming the power, she will implement the scheme.
She said that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi now is giving assurance that he will solve the dyeing units problem.
Listing out of various murders and abduction for last five years and failure in law and order situation in the state, Ms Jayalalithaa said Mr Karunanidhi is taking care of his family instead of state.
She said they have involved in all sectors and showed their monopoly including cinema, newspaper, sand, granite, land, cable TV and etc.
She recalled when thousands of Tamilians were killed in Sri Lanka, the chief minister played a drama of fast agitation for three hours and said people of Tamil Nadu will not forget those and will teach a lesson on April 13, when the election was held.
She assured that a Manimandapam will be constructed in this city in the name of farmers leaders Narayanasamy Naidu and said the family of farmers who lost their life during agitation, will be given pension.
She also said once her party formed the government the people and the farming land will be protected from wildlife elephants.
Earlier, CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat in his address said whether the CBI will punish or not in the 2G Spectrum issue, the people of Tamil Nadu will punish the corrupt DMK and Congress alliance in the state election. He also said that DMK’s name should change as "Sonia Family Munnetra Kazhagam".
