Chennai, Apr 7 : With just six days to go for the Tamil Nadu assembly polls, ruling Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK)'s chief minister M Karunanidhi on Thursday said he is the sole chief ministerial candidate of his party's alliance with the Congress.
"I am the only chief ministerial candidate of the DMK-Congress alliance," he told NDTV in an interview while alleging that his opponent Jayalalitha has stolen from their election manifesto.
Karunanidhi, speaking in Tamil, said the 2G scam will not affect the political fortunes of the ruling DMK.
He also accused the opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) of stealing his political manifesto.
"I pity her," he said when questioned on AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has issued notices to Jayalalithaa and her alliance partner DMDK chief Vijayakant for allegedly personally attacking M Karunanidhi and his family members during the campaign.
Both the leaders were asked to send their replies by 5 p.m. on Thursday to Election Commission.
